A local, family-run barbecue joint on Franklin Avenue in Gentilly, with whole hog, housemade sausage, housemade BBQ sauce and burnt ends on the board.
Cochon King is run by Chris "Shaggy" Davis, a New Orleans cook with more than 25 years in seafood and a lifelong love of barbecue. He named the place for the many pigs he has cooked over the years: cochon is French for pig.
The Pig Truck has been rolling since 2018, outside festivals, venues and events all over town. The brick-and-mortar on Franklin Avenue brings the same smoker to Gentilly five days a week.
Pick your meats, add two small sides. Every platter comes with bread, housemade pickles, pickled red onions and housemade BBQ sauce.

BBQ travels well. Cochon King caters corporate events, reunions, birthdays and weddings, from hot delivered pans anywhere in metro New Orleans to full-service buffets, carving stations and whole hogs cooked on site.
Pick up at Franklin Avenue to save on fees, or book The Pig Truck to pop up at your event. Orders for 10+ people need at least 48 hours' notice.
